The grid surface is UV powder coated for durability and aesthetics and the open-frame design also minimizes wind loading.

A socket wrench or adjustable wrench is all you need for this installation.

Step 1 Assemble the Grid

Assemble the halves of the reflector grid. Heres a close up showing how the tabs of the grid easily slide together. Secure the grid by using the supplied machine screws with nuts and flat and lock washers.

Step 2 Position the L Bracket to the Back Noting the orientation required for the desired polarity, position the L bracket to the back of the grid assembly.

Step 3 Position the Feedhorn to the Front Position the feedhorn to the front of the grid assembly, again noting the orientation required for the desired polarity. Heres a closeup showing how the feedhorn fits in the assembled grid. On the back side of the grid, use the supplied machine screws with nuts and flat and lock washers.

Step 4 Determine the Polarity For the 5.8 GHz model, orientate the feedhorn and the grid in this direction for vertical polarity. Note how the feedhorn arrow runs parallel with the grid. For horizontal polarity, simply orientate the feedhorn and the grid in this direction again noting the feedhorn arrow running parallel with the grid. The same orientation rules apply for the 2.4 GHz model which uses a feed reflector attached to the feedhorn. For vertical polarity, orientate the feedhorn and grid in this direction making sure the reflector is parallel with the grid. For horizontal polarity, simply orientate the feedhorn and the grid in this direction again making sure that the reflector is parallel with the antenna grid. When determining or changing the direction for vertical or horizontal polarity, the "L" bracket attached to the back of the grid will need to be adjusted accordingly.

Step 5 Install Mast Clamps. Install the two mast clamps between the L bracket and the mast. Then slide the U-bolts through the bracket holes. Fasten with the supplied lock washers and nuts. Heres another angle showing how the U-bolts slide through the bracket holes.

Step 6 Complete the Installation By Connecting the Appropriate Cable Complete the installation by connecting the appropriate coaxial cable to the back of the feedhorn. Remember to apply weatherproof tape to the connector to ensure a watertight installation.

60° Optional Tilt Mounting This antenna is supplied with a 60 degree tilt and swivel mast mount kit which allows installation at various degrees of incline for easy alignment. They can be adjusted up or down from 0° to 60°. This option shows the antenna in the fixed tilt position where one U-bolt assembly is attached to a fixed position on the "L" bracket. This other option shows the antenna in the tilt slot position where one U-bolt assembly is attached to a slot position on the "L" bracket allowing the antenna to move freely.

These antennas are ideal for point to point systems, point to multi-point and wireless bridges.

Watch on YouTube →
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0869/5892/products/AssembleInstallHyperlinkGridAntennaLComVideo.PNG?v=1457604755
how-to-make-an-ethernet-cable-l-com-video
How to Make an Ethernet Cable - L-Com Video

L-com explains how to make an Ethernet Cable.

Prep work For this termination I will be using a TDS8CVR series snap-on style boot. If a slip-on style is selected, the boot must be installed prior to the plug.

Step 1 Using a cable-stripping tool such as L-com's HTS501, remove approximately 2 inches of the outer jacket without cutting the foil or drain wire.

Step 2 Fold the foil back over the jacket in a spiral with overlapping seams. Wrap the drain wire around the foil in the opposite direction of the foil wrap to help hold both in place. Then, remove the clear polyester binder.

Step 3 The TDS8PC6 plug features a pair spacer that can be discarded if this plug is being terminated on category 5E cable. For this example, I will be using the EIA568-B color code standard. Install the spacer by placing the orange and brown pairs on the outer edges and the blue and green pair in the top and bottom. For the best performance, the second cable end should have the blue and green pair reversed.

Step 4 Remove the twist from each pair being careful to leave at least one half of a twist within the spacer. Try to keep this half or full twist to improve performance.

Step 5 Place the pairs in the correct order for the color code you are using. Cut the wires at a angle to make installing the management bar easier. Be sure to leave at least a half inch of conductor to install the management bar.

Step 6 Slide the management bar onto the wires and using a pair of pliers, pull the wires while setting the management bar all the way down to the pair spacer.

Step 7 Cut the conductors flush with the end of the management bar.

Step 8 Insert the prepared cable with the management bar into the plug body. Be sure to get the cable pushed all the way to the front of the plug.

Step 9 Bend the strain relief flat against the cable jacket and shield. To make crimping easier, partially pre-bend the strain relief tabs.

Step 10 I am using the HTS2500 series single step crimp tool to crimp the plug. Seat the prepared end into the end of the tool making sure the strain relief is completely inside the tool. Cycle the crimp tool handle completely closed to insure a proper crimp.

Step 11 Trim excess shield material at the back of the strain relief for a finished look.

Step 12 For this installation I chose the snap-on boot. This can be applied after termination of the cable.

Watch on YouTube →

L-com explains how to panel mount Adapters.

Step 1 Remove the standard hardware from the adaptor using two hex nut drivers. The hardware is designed to attach to other D-Sub adapters.
