The Extron DMP 44 xi Digital Matrix Processor is a compact 4x4 audio mixer featuring digital signal processing with audio signal routing and control. The DMP 44 xi features four line level inputs and outputs, all offering balanced or unbalanced operation. It offers essential audio DSP tools for mixing, routing, and room optimization, such as gain, EQ, and compression. Intuitive configuration using DSP Configurator allows the DMP 44 xi to be quickly and easily set up. The DMP 44 xi is ideal for presentation applications that require line level audio matrix mixing with DSP in a small form factor.

DSP

The DSP built into the DMP 44 xi provides wide dynamic range and utilizes 24-bit audio converters with 48 kHz sampling to maintain audio signal transparency. Several essential, easy-to-configure tools are available: level controls, high and low pass filters, parametric EQ filters, bass and treble shelving filters, compressor, limiter, and ducker.

Easy-to-Use DSP Configuration Software

DSP Configurator software features an intuitive on-screen layout that offers fast access to all the digital audio signal processing tools as well as matrix mixing. Designers can quickly get a snapshot view of the entire audio system, including processing blocks and routing assignments, all at once.

Flexible Routing

The DMP 44 xi features four mono line inputs that can be matrix mixed into any of the four output buses to create finely tuned audio zones for the corresponding outputs. This audio matrix mixing is ideal for many applications, such as combining two independent stereo audio sources or switchers into a single amplifier or recording system, or in a divisible room installation for feeding a switcher's audio output to the sound system for each room.

Versatile Control Options

The DMP 44 xi can conveniently be controlled and configured via RS-232 serial control or USB. It also includes digital input ports, which allow for external triggering.

Features

  • 4x4 line level audio matrix mixer — The DMP 44 xi is a compact matrix mixer with DSP. It features four line level inputs that can be processed, mixed, and routed to four line level outputs.
  • Inputs: Four balanced or unbalanced line level on two 3.5 mm, 6-pole captive screw connectors
  • Outputs: Four balanced or unbalanced line level on two 3.5 mm, 6-pole captive screw connectors
  • Digital audio signal processing on all inputs and outputs
  • Expanded dynamics and filter DSP blocks — Comprehensive dynamics block includes compression, limiting, AGC, gating, and ducking. Filter DSP includes 4th order HPF/LPF.
  • DSP Configurator provides an intuitive graphical user environment — A powerful and user-friendly PC-based software tool for managing all audio operations of the DMP 44 xi. It enables complete setup and configuration of digital audio processing tools with a clear view of all inputs and outputs, audio processing blocks, routing, and mix points in a single window.
  • Four digital input ports for remote triggering — Four configurable digital input ports are provided, so that external switches and sensors can be connected to the mixer for remote triggering of functions within the DMP 44 xi.
  • Predictable, low latency hardware DSP — Input to output latency is fixed within the DMP 44 xi, regardless of the number of active channels or processes. Predictable, low latency processing keeps audio in sync with video, and prevents distractions to a presenter resulting from delayed live audio.
  • 24-bit/48 kHz analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters — High performance converters preserve audio signal integrity in input and output signal conversion, while maintaining latency under 1 ms.
  • Front panel USB-C configuration port — Enables easy configuration via DSP Configurator while the unit is installed.
  • RS-232 control port — Using serial commands, the DMP 44 xi can be integrated into a control system. Extron products use the SIS - Simple Instruction Set command protocol, a set of basic ASCII code commands that allow for quick and easy programming.
  • Building Blocks processor settings — A collection of Extron-designed processor settings optimized for specific types of input or output devices, such as microphones and Extron speakers, with preset levels, filters, dynamics, and more. Flexible Building Blocks are available on each I/O strip and allow system designers to fully customize and save their own Building Blocks, further streamlining audio system design and integration.
  • Console View with gain settings, metering, and routing in a single window — An optional view within DSP Configurator that allows system designers to see all gain settings and routing, together with live metering in a single window. Console View provides overload indication, numeric values for levels, and also mute status for each input, gain stage, mix point, and output, so that settings between inputs and outputs can be easily compared and adjusted in one view.
  • Live and Emulate operating modes with configuration file saving — Live mode allows integrators to connect to the DMP 44 xi with DSP Configurator to make live parameter adjustments while hearing or metering them in real-time. This avoids the need to compile and upload a configuration file to the DSP. Emulation mode allows settings to be configured offline, then uploaded to the DMP 44 xi. The software also downloads configuration files from the mixer for archiving.
  • Sixteen DSP Configurator presets — Using DSP Configurator , any or all parameters for DSP processing, levels, or routing can be saved as presets.
  • Group controls — The DMP 44 xi provides the capability to consolidate gain or mute control throughout the system. Gain or mute controls can be selected and added to a group control, which can then be controlled by a single control fader or mute control. Up to 16 group controls can be created.
  • Soft limits provide optimal group control adjustment range — The group control volume range can be limited using soft limits to maintain optimal minimum and maximum levels when using external volume control. This prevents operators from over or under-adjusting levels when using digital input or RS-232 control. DSP Configurator provides quick adjustment of soft limits from the Group Controls screen.
  • Rack-mountable 1U, quarter rack width metal enclosure
  • External Extron Everlast™ power supply included, replacement part #70-1175-01 — Provides worldwide power compatibility with high?demonstrated reliability and low power consumption. This power supply is compatible with the ZipClip 50 Mounting Kit.
  • Extron Everlast Power Supply is covered by a 7?year parts and labor warranty
