Brochure

The Extron NetPA U 8001 SUB is an ENERGY STAR qualified subwoofer amplifier that delivers 800 watts in a plenum rated enclosure that mounts directly to our SF 10C SUB in?ceiling subwoofer. Dante Domain Manager and AES67 support ensure wide compatibility with enterprise configurations and other network audio devices. With its integrated DSP for essential processing, the NetPA U 8001 SUB amplifier is the perfect companion to our SF 10C SUB subwoofer. This powerful combination meets the requirements of complex, decentralized systems with a complete space-saving solution.

Dante Audio Networking

Dante provides scalable audio transport, with Dante Domain Manager support, over a local area network using standard Internet protocols. The family of Dante-enabled products from Extron work together as part of a complete networked audio system solution and integrate with other Dante-enabled products to create efficient system designs. With AES67 support, NetPA amplifiers accommodate a range of audio routing needs in a variety of applications.

Setting up a network of Extron Dante-enabled products requires Dante Controller software. Dante Controller is used to easily assign an output from a Dante-enabled device, such as an Extron DMP Plus Series processor, to an input on a NetPA Ultra amplifier.

Integrated DSP

A built in mix matrix allows any analog or Dante input to be routed to any Dante output, analog line output, or the amplifier output. The integrated DSP provides essential processing including gain adjustment, filters, dynamics, ducking, and delay. The Dante outputs, analog line outputs, and amplifier output have independent processing for maximum flexibility.

The DSP built into the NetPA U 8001 SUB includes a 4th order Linkwitz-Riley filter for the creation of crossovers in applications where full range audio is passed through to program speakers.

Control and Monitoring

Network and RS-232 provide connections for control of amplifier parameters as well as monitoring of the amplifier's status.

Analog Line Outputs

The post input DSP analog line outputs allow for connection of additional amplifiers, simplifying connection to the source while providing consistent or independent processing. The independent processing of these line outputs allows for unique filters, delay, and level requirements.

Designed by Extron

Every circuit in a NetPA Ultra power amplifier is designed by our team of dedicated power amplifier engineers, ensuring that every Extron amplifier meets our high standards of excellence. By designing everything in-house, Extron engineers can meticulously optimize every detail for maximum performance, reliability, power efficiency, and reduced heat.

High Efficiency

With tested and measured efficiency benchmarks up to 77%, the NetPA Ultra uses less electricity to generate the same amount of power. This has the direct benefit of lower electricity costs and less power infrastructure required.

Cool Operation

A NetPA Ultra amplifier runs up to 28% cooler, with up to 49% less power wasted as heat, and up to 59% less radiated heat compared to competitive amplifiers. Electronics that run cooler, last longer and don’t transfer heat to other gear sharing the same rack. The low radiated heat of the NetPA Ultra amplifiers, enabled by our advanced thermal engineering, saves on cooling costs and allows more channels of amplification to be put into fewer rack spaces.

Fast Wake from Standby

The NetPA U 8001 SUB meets ENERGY STAR qualification requirements with a selectable auto power-down feature that can be enabled to automatically place the amplifier into standby after 25 minutes of inactivity. When in standby, the NetPA U 8001 SUB draws less than four watts of power. It quickly comes out of standby upon detection of signal in under 100 milliseconds, fast enough that the beginning of audio is not cut off. When coming out of standby, the NetPA U 8001 SUB draws minimal inrush current, creating no sudden demand on power systems.

Rock-Solid Reliability

Product reliability is a high priority at Extron and we go to great lengths to engineer products with industry-leading low failure rates, driven by rigorous testing of everything we ship. From the elimination of short-lived electrolytic capacitors in the signal path, to PCB designs that exclude the use of failure-prone wire harnesses, to accelerated burn-in testing, the NetPA U 8001 SUB is engineered by Extron for many years of service.

Features

  • Receives audio from the Dante audio network and from analog line level inputs — Select a channel from any remote Dante-enabled device on the network, or an analog source, to be brought into the NetPA U 8001 SUB for subwoofer amplification.
  • 800 watts rms mono output power at 8 ohms - 650 watts rms mono output power at 4 ohms ; 325 watts rms mono output power at 2 ohms
  • ENERGY STAR qualified amplifier with selectable auto-standby and fast wake up — The NetPA U 8001 SUB is an ENERGY STAR qualified amplifier and energy efficient product that conserves energy and reduces costs. The NetPA U 8001 SUB meets ENERGY STAR qualification requirements with a selectable auto-standby feature that can be enabled to automatically place the amplifier into standby after 25 minutes of inactivity, dramatically reducing power consumption. The NetPA U 8001 SUB quickly returns to full power status in less than 100 ms upon signal detection, with minimal inrush current.
  • Mounts in a rack or directly to an SF 10C SUB — Single and dual rack mount hardware included
  • Onboard DSP with 4x5 mix matrix — Route any input to any output, with or without processing, Crossover supported.
  • Frequency range optimized for subwoofers — 20 Hz to 1 kHz
  • Convection cooled, fanless operation - can be stacked without extra rack space for ventilation — The NetPA U 8001 SUB does not require internal fans or vents for cooling, ensuring quiet, reliable operation. It generates substantially less heat than conventional power amplifiers, making it ideal for rack-mount applications where space is at a premium.
  • Extron Patented CDRS™ - Class D Ripple Suppression — CDRS is an Extron Patented technology that provides a smooth, clean audio waveform and an improvement in signal fidelity over conventional Class D amplifier designs. CDRS eliminates the high frequency switching ripple characteristic of Class D amplifiers, a source of RF emissions which can interfere with sensitive AV equipment such as wireless microphones.
  • Remote control and monitoring - Control and monitor the NetPA Ultra directly through the RS-232 port ; Control the NetPA Ultra through a DMP Plus Series processor over a Dante network ; Setup and configuration with Extron DSP Configurator Software — Via a Dante network or USB
  • UL 2043 plenum rated when used with optional Flexible Conduit Adapter Kit — The NetPA U 8001 SUB meets UL 2043 for smoke and heat release for installation within a plenum airspace above a drop ceiling when used with the optional Flexible Conduit Adapter Kit, part # 70-228-02. Above-the-ceiling placement conceals the amplifier to prevent theft, and is convenient for installing equipment when space inside the room is limited.
  • Professional grade signal-to-noise and THD+N performance — The NetPA U 8001 SUB delivers professional grade performance, featuring 100 dB signal-to-noise ratio and THD+N of less than 0.1%.
  • Ultra low inrush current at power up - no need for power sequencing — Allows multiple NetPA Ultra Series amplifiers to be powered on simultaneously without overloading power circuits. This eliminates the need for power sequencing.
  • Power factor correction - removes harmonic content on AC line — The NetPA U 8001 SUB features power factor correction technology that smooths out the high peak currents of the amplifier’s current draw, minimizing the presence of high frequency harmonics on the AC power line, preventing audible artifacts from being transmitted to other audio equipment in the system.
  • Rear panel recessed, detented level controls — Provides attenuation of input signals for adjusting audio system gain staging. These controls are located on the rear panel to prevent tampering with level adjustments. Laser etched markings provide enhanced visibility of settings for ease of configuration.
