The Extron USBC Pro Series of active, hybrid optical-copper USB?C® cables provide transmission of video, audio, data, and power signals over distances up to 25 feet. The cables are USB 3.2 compliant and are compatible with previous USB standards. The USBC Pro Series supports USB data rates up to 5 Gbps, 4K/30 DisplayPort video, and audio signals simultaneously. In addition, these cables support power delivery of up to 60 watts. The ultra-flexible, 0.25” (6.5 mm) thin diameter and narrow bend radius cable construction allow for installation in tight spaces. These active cables are unidirectional and can draw power from either connected USB device. The USBC Pro Series cables are available in popular lengths from 12 feet up to 25 feet (3.6 meters up to 7.6 meters).

The USBC Pro Series offers the benefits of fiber optics with the simplicity of traditional copper cables. Providing the best combination of price and performance, this cabling solution is ideal for sending USB data, AV, and power signals over long cable runs while maintaining full signal integrity and providing reliable operation to support mission-critical applications.

USBC Pro cables use glass, multimode optical fiber to transmit bidirectional USB 3.2 data, 4K/30 DisplayPort video and embedded audio signals. Built?in active circuitry converts the incoming electrical signal into an optical signal on one end, and back into an electrical signal on the opposite end. The cable circuitry draws minimal power which it receives from either the connected USB host or USB peripheral device. All other non-bandwidth intensive or low-speed signals are carried on the integrated copper wires, including uni-directional USB 2.0/1.1, EDID, HDCP, and power. The cables allow for power requirement negotiations between connected USB devices that support Power Delivery - USB PD. This enables either the host or the peripheral device to deliver power. For example, a self-powered display charges a laptop connected at the host end of the cable.

For easy identification and cable orientation, a blue-colored ring encircles the host connector neck and connector ends are molded with descriptive text to indicate source and display directionality.

Features

  • USB 3.2 compliant
  • Supports a SuperSpeed USB data rate of 5 Gbps
  • Power delivery of up to 60 watts — Supports various voltage profiles up to 20 volts at 3 amps, thus able to charge a range of devices.
  • Transmits 4K/30 DisplayPort video and embedded audio signals — Compatible with DisplayPort Alt mode-capable USB?C host devices, the unidirectional USBC Pro Series cables transmit DisplayPort video and embedded audio signals from the host to the connected display device.
  • Supports pass through of EDID and HDCP-encrypted signals
  • Ultra-flexible, ultra-thin 0.25” (6.5 mm) diameter cable — Narrow bend radius facilitates easier installation and reduces possibility of cable damage.
  • No external power is needed — Built?in active circuitry is powered by either end, eliminating the cost of an external power supply.
  • Bidirectional USB power flow — When connected to USB devices that support USB PD, power flows both ways, enabling both host and peripheral devices to provide power to the far-end device.
  • Highly resistant to EMI/RFI Interference — The USBC Pro Series can be used in high-interference environments, such as data centers and manufacturing facilities.
  • Gold-plated contacts — Contacts will not tarnish, maintaining a long-lasting, reliable electrical connection.
  • Color-coded and labeled ends — A blue ring around the neck of the host connector and molded text provide visual identification for cable orientation.
  • Backwards compatible with previous USB standards
  • Compatible with Thunderbolt 3 devices
  • Available in lengths from 12 feet to 25 feet (3.6 meters to 7.6 meters)
