The Extron XTP CP 4i 12G-SDI Input Board enables 12G-SDI connectivity within XTP Systems®. It supports 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G?SDI, and HD-SDI video signal data rates up to 11.88 Gbps, and passes HDR, embedded audio, along with other ancillary data allowed by the SMPTE and ITU specifications. Incoming signals are automatically equalized to provide optimal signal quality for long cable runs. Buffered SDI and HDMI loop-through connections deliver added convenience, accommodating local displays. For flexible audio management and breakaway audio routing, the input board facilitates two-channel AES audio extraction.

To compensate for weak source signals or signal loss from a long input cable, the XTP CP 4i 12G-SDI offers automatic input cable equalization and reclocking on the buffered HDMI and SDI loop-throughs. Input equalization restores and reshapes incoming signals, ensuring optimal signal quality throughout the system.

Extron XTP Systems

Extron XTP Systems provide a completely integrated switching and distribution solution for multiple digital and analog formats. They support local connectivity as well as extended transmission capability for sending high resolution video, audio, RS?232, and Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable and even greater distances over fiber optic cabling. Each system is HDCP compliant and delivers ultra?fast, highly reliable digital switching with Extron's SpeedSwitch® Technology.

At the heart of a system is an XTP matrix switcher. The modular matrix switchers are expandable from 4x4 to 64x64, depending on frame size, and can be populated with a wide variety of XTP I/O matrix boards. Input and output boards provide direct HDMI, DVI, 3G?SDI, VGA, video, and audio connections to local sources and displays, and signal extension to remote endpoints when using XTP transmitters and receivers. The matrix switcher can also provide power to a remote XTP device over CATx cabling, depending on transmitter model.

The online XTP System Builder gives convenient access for complete system design. The tool also features a printable bill of materials, pricing, and quote submittal. Once the order is confirmed and received, the included XTP System Configuration Software enables easy setup and configuration right out of the box.

To configure, operate, and monitor the system in real time, user-friendly control software offers a complete view of all XTP devices from a computer. With hot?swappable modular components, a wide selection of XTP transmitters and receivers, and advanced 24/7 system monitoring, XTP Systems are designed to provide continuous, trouble-free operation in the most critical applications.

• Automatic input cable equalization — Actively conditions incoming SDI signals to compensate for signal loss when using long cables, low quality cables, or source devices with poor signal output.
• Automatic output reclocking — Reshapes and restores timing of digital video signals at output on the input board loop-throughs. Signals are conditioned for optimal quality, eliminating high frequency jitter and provides AV system designers with additional headroom when connecting multiple devices.

• Immunity to pathological signal patterns — Immune to pathological signals, including test patterns defined by SMPTE RP 178 and SMPTE RP 198.
• Embedded AES audio support — The XTP input board can transmit the AES embedded digital audio of group one, pair one.
• SD Pro processing provides deinterlacing of standard definition video — SD Pro processing deinterlaces 480i and 576i signals for compatibility with HDMI and DVI-equipped displays, without the need for additional scalers.
• Audio breakaway enables independent audio and video switching — Provides the capability to break away an audio signal from its corresponding video signal.
• Selectable input audio — Select between digital two?channel or digital multi-channel audio formats.
• SDI decoded audio — When in the 2CH-Digital mode, the first pair of audio signals can be decoded from group one via SIS commands.
• DSVP™ - Digital Sync Validation Processing — Polls inputs to verify data rates, and transmits the information to the user through the Ethernet port on the XTP matrix switcher frame.
• Hot-swappable — Board can be added or removed without the need to power down the matrix switcher.
