The FireNEX-5000S is now EOL (End of Life). Only a few items are still currently available.
Building on from the success of the first generation of FireNEX-5000, the second generation, FireNEX-5000S has taken USB 3.0 over 300+ meters. It is the world’s first USB 3.0 optical repeater that is capable of extending USB 3.0 signals at this distance. In addition to the features that its previous generation possesses, the newly designed FireNEX-5000S offers even more impressive features. All of the USB 3.0 ports are equipped with USB3 Vision compliant locking screws and the host unit (downstream) can be used as a stand-alone USB 3.0 hub.
Similar to the FireNEX-5000, the FireNEX-5000S consists of a Downstream and an Upstream unit. The Upstream unit features two USB A ports and the Downstream unit features one USB B port and a standard optical port. All ports are equipped with USB3 Vision Compliant locking screws for a more secured connection. It is an ideal solution for Machine Vision applications.
Note: The FireNEX-5000S works with USB 3.0 signals only and is not backward compatible with USB 2.0 and below.
